Care tips

For long-lasting enjoyment of the furniture.

Material properties

The variety of furniture surfaces in terms of material, colours and quality is very large. Their properties also vary greatly. Therefore, when making your choice, consider how much the furniture will be used in the future and how much you will use it. Whether plastic, real wood, imitation or solid wood, all surfaces change over time due to exposure to light and sunlight.

Temperature and humidity

Please ensure a constant and healthy room climate, as wooden materials and solid wood tend to warp if the room temperature and humidity fluctuate. Therefore, ventilate the room thoroughly at least once a day. According to medical and scientific findings, the optimum room climate is 45 - 55 % relative humidity at 18 - 23°C on an annual average.

Please also remember to ventilate the furniture and do not place it directly against a wall, but at least 20 mm away from it. Failure to observe these rules may result in permanent damage to your furniture.

Make sure that no hot, heavy, sharp-edged or damp objects are placed on the furniture surfaces. These can cause pressure marks or edges. Spilt liquids such as fruit juices and alcohol should be dabbed up immediately with an absorbent cloth. Never rub an area with great pressure.

In the case of furniture surfaces that have prolonged contact with different materials (reactions, e.g. plasticisers in desk pads), this can lead to chemical reactions and cause discolouration.

Resilience

The load-bearing capacity of beds, functional parts, shelves, drawers, racks and wall shelves, whether glass, wood, metal or plastic, varies greatly. In addition, depending on the material and size, a certain amount of bending of shelves, shelves, drawer bottoms, table tops or shelves is unavoidable and permissible as long as safety, function and the harmonious overall impression are not impaired. It is therefore essential to observe the following manufacturer's specifications regarding maximum load limits:

Cleaning lacquered surfaces

Please only use natural cleaning agents that do not attack the surfaces. A clean "damp cloth" is often sufficient to carefully remove dirt. Remove stubborn stains or manufacturing residues with a little neutral soap. It may only be applied in diluted form! Always test a concealed area first to see if the selected cleaner leaves stains on the surface. After cleaning, dry the surface with a cotton cloth.

Cleaning high-gloss surfaces

It is essential to clean high-gloss fronts after "initial assembly" and later in general: Always use a completely clean, unused cleaning cloth, not a so-called microfibre cloth. Do not use the same cloth for the inside and front sides and always rinse clean. Even the smallest specks of dust, dirt residues etc. that are invisible to the naked eye can leave marks on the high-gloss fronts.

Instructions for use

for high-quality rauch furniture

Thank you for choosing a quality furniture made in Germany by rauch.

On this page, you'll find important information on the use of our products. Those information have also been delivered to you with our product in a seperate brochure.

Dear Customer,

Congratulations on purchasing a piece of Rauch furniture. All Rauch products are "made in Germany" using high-quality wood-based materials and environmentally friendly processes. The high quality of Rauch furniture has been confirmed by independent testing institutes. Please observe the assembly instructions. Follow the individual steps precisely. Take care when opening the packaging and check to ensure that nothing is missing. Do not destroy or dispose of the packaging before you are certain that you have all the pieces required for assembly.

When unpacking the furniture, ensure small parts are kept out of the reach of children, in order to avoid the risk of swallowing. To avoid asphyxiation, keep the plastic film out of reach of babies and children.

Wall assembly/fixing:

If the furniture is to be fixed to the wall (see assembly instructions), you must check that the bearing capacity of the wall is sufficient prior to assembly. Please also take into account any power lines or water pipelines. The fixing material which is supplied for assembly to the wall is only suitable for solid brickwork. Other fixing materials must be used for other types of walls.

Load information:

The maximum permissible loads which may be placed on our shelves, drawers, clothes rails, etc., depend on the material used (wood, metal, etc.). We provide a load table for download, where you can see the relevant maximum permissible load.

Electrical components:

All electrical components are checked by our suppliers as regards usage and operation and thus meet the established EU requirements (CE, VDE, etc.). When changing lamps please do not exceed the maximum given wattage. Do not cover lamps and ensure that heat is not allowed to build up.

Beds:

Beds must be assembled on a flat surface otherwise functionality may be impaired and the furniture may creak. After adjusting the bed, the base feet must be raised off the floor and returned to their original position before being positioned stabily anew.

Care:

A damp, lint-free cotton cloth is all that is needed to clean the surfaces of the furniture. Once cleaned, always wipe the surfaces dry.

Please keep these assembly instructions and information brochure in a safe place.

Furniture manufactured in industrial environments is subject to certain tolerances as a result of the processes and materials used in its production. These include slight deviations in colour, structure, application and glass properties, for example, which fall within the scope of nationally and internationally applicable standards. These properties, which are typical of the goods concerned, do not represent material defects unless they have an effect on usage, function, application, safety or service life.

If you still have a legitimate complaint concerning the structure/composition of the furniture, please get in touch with the relevant furniture store directly.

We hope you enjoy your new piece of furniture.

Packaging

The packaging materials listed below are used to protect our products.

All materials are 100% recyclable.

Polythene film (outer packaging)

If necessary, furniture or furniture parts are provided with polystyrene (EPS) edge protection and then shrink-wrapped in a packaging channel with polyethylene (PE-LD) packaging film. For technical reasons, no PCR material is used.

Cardboard packaging (outer packaging)

If necessary, furniture or furniture parts are provided with polystyrene (EPS) edge protection and packed in cardboard packaging.

The recycled content of standard cardboard packaging is 100%, for continuous cardboard packaging approx. 80%, as a kraft liner is required as transport protection to improve the compression values. The proportion of endless cardboard packaging in the total amount of cardboard packaging is around 50%.

Polystyrene - EPS (part protection in the packaging)

Polystyrene moulded parts (EPS) or EPS blanks are used to protect furniture parts in packaging. Polystyrene that accumulates from returned deliveries of furniture parts is returned to the EPS manufacturer by Rauch Möbelwerke for recycling.

Chipboard and MDF boards (part protection in the packaging)

To protect furniture parts in the packaging, chipboard or MDF boards are sometimes used as cut-to-size boards or in the form of protective strips. These are offcuts from furniture production.
